Dear Grant

Dear Grant,

Please stop taking off your diaper and wearing other people's underwear. I know you're ready but I need a little more prep time. Please consider waiting for at least two more weeks to potty train.

Love,

MOM

Is he close to 3? You know, it was WAY easier for me to train Tyler than Emma (she was just barely 2). Tyler was almost 3 and he took it seriously. I use a potty chair for the first few weeks so I can have it any room I want (I know, gross). The very first thing I do is fill them up with liquid so that first day they get used to the feeling and needing to go a lot. Then I pretty much eliminate liquids. :) Tyler was awesome - he had a few accidents but not many, and in about a week we were completely done. We even ventured out of the house the 2nd day, but just for about a half hour. Good luck!!!

Jamie, I love your mothering blog. You are such an inspiration to me. I hope that I can continue to learn and grow from wonderful women like you.

Potty training is definitely something that parents have to be ready for also, not just the kids. Especially when you've been through it before and know how much energy it takes. Good luck!

Too funny! It is a goal we want so badly for our kids but on our terms- not theirs! Good luck!

How funny!!!!! Hope you can meet in the middle and get down to business when you're both ready. I've been thinking about this with Little Miss Sunshine and I'm not ready. I've toilet trained so many of my students, but I'm petrified to do it with my own!

I laughed when I read this post. I can so relate to your feelings! It is so nice when the kids are DONE with potty training, but the road to get there is sometimes so hard! I love your blog Jamie, you have such great insights! Cute Grant, I miss seeing him every week with his "silky". I loved those nursery kids. So cute and each one (although so small) had their own personality and were truly their own person. Great times! Renee

This is hilarious..I am so with you!
I'd rather deal with the diaper somedays..maybe the 4th just mentally pushes our sanity. Kate is good now, but it was a struggle!
