Moving Right Along

We're moving again. We were hoping to live in this house for at least a couple more years or until our MA house is sold (we still have renters). But alas, the owner of this house wants to sell it in this crazy crazy market in the middle of winter. We've been really busy looking at houses to buy for the last few weeks. We have one offer down on a house, but its a short sale so the bank takes its time waiting for the best price (sometimes months). Its nice that I've recently decluttered most of the closets and cleaned the fridge top to bottom and gotten most of the Christmas presents ready. The goal is to totally finish Christmas up to the stockings by next week . At the moment I'm in round two of decluttering and cleaning. If we don't buy a house by the beginning of the year we'll rent again-ugh! In our 11 years of marriage we have never lived in one place for more than two years. The day will come when we'll be settled for good.

So life has been a little stressful and as a result I've eaten more candy, worried a lot and slacked off on dinner. Why not iron, fold laundry, cook and clean during times of stress? Do you think I could train myself to be productive instead of eating junk food and wastefully worrying?

Sorry to hear that you have to move again. Moving is NOT my cup of tea. Hopefully you'll find a home that's just right and you won't have to move for a long time. Also, I'm amazed that you have you nearly have your Christmas gifts ready to go. I'm very impressed. I tried doing that this year and it hasn't worked.

Good luck with everything!

Bummer. I'll be interested to hear where you end up going. Are you looking in the same area where you are so the kids will stay in the same school? Hope your Mass. house sells soon. And, about the snacking, I do it all the time whether I'm stressed or not. Probably about time to address that one!

You ARE accomplishing something - all that decluttering! Fantastic! Pretty soon you'll forget about snacking and be able to focus on the other things. Eating to deal with the stress is better than getting physically sick because of it!

eating candy is good for you, lets face it. worrying? maybe not so much but i'm glad you're at least enjoying some tasty treats :)

Oh Jamie! This seems to be your MO. Maybe it is because the Lord wants your family to have as much influence on as many people as possible! You did great work here! Don't worry..you'll kick into gear soon, as soon as the sugar hits the blood stream. Your a fighter and a GREAT organizer. I hope you get settled somewhere great! Someday in your mansion above, I hope to live around the corner..

Your landlord is crazy. I hope you find a really great house! Do you love the short-sale home?

Charlotte, what I love about the short sale house is that the kitchen is huge and the yard is bigger than most we've looked at but not so big that you'd dread mowing it. Also its about 20 years old so we can update it and make it our own. The very best thing about the house is that we'd pay thousands of dollars less on it than any other house. Did I mention its in a very nice neighborhood--probably the ugliest house in the neighborhood. It has a lot of potential but is completely liveable for now.

Wow, I am so sorry you have to move again! What a horrible time to add such stress to your life. I am sure you will find a great place, though, and in the end will be glad it was forced upon you. That's the great thing about trials like this--there are always great blessings just around the corner!

At least you have an excuse for eating junk and slacking on the dinner prep. I am doing all that, too, but without anything to excuse it as being "out of norm." :o)

That house sounds great. I hope the bank accepts your offer.

I am sorry that the landlord decided that he needed to exercise his agency at such an awkward time of year. Blessings come for those who are prepared. Your desire to organize and clean will be such a blessing in the long run. Kudos!

I think inspiration has been a big help for you lately! I know that each time before I was going to move or even thought about it I would start to declutter and spruce up! Hey and the junk food helps to give extra energy too! Good luck on the house and STAYING PUT!

Whitney and his wife Monica are flipping a beautiful house in Sandy...right next to our cousin Eli. I was going to flip it, but it didn't work out. Anyways, it's a really nice place in a really nice neighborhood. The house next door is for sale for $275K, and this one will be way lower than that. It has a huge yard, 5 bedrooms and lots of character. You should totally get a hold of them! Good luck!
